Mariah Carey

by Amanda Flinner

She may call herself the "elusive chanteuse," but Mariah Carey has found herself in the center of the public eye countless times in her lengthy career. Early media attention actually focused on her music with praise for her impressive vocal acrobatics but gave way to tabloid tales of high-profile romances, feuds, and diva antics (including that MTV Cribs moment when she worked out in stilettos). Not to mention invasive coverage of her nervous breakdown during the hectic promotion of her ill-fated Glitter movie/album. More recently, she made headlines when her sister sued her over abuse claims the singer made in her memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey. But she manages to take it all in stride - wearing heels, of course.

Her loyal fans, dubbed The Lambily, know all there is to know about their beloved Mimi - but can you tell the fact from the fiction?
