  • Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Neko Bennett, better known as 4batz, is a R&B singer with a distinctive sound. His debut single, "Act I: Stickers '99,'" released in June 2023, showcased 4Batz's unique vocal tone, a smooth blend of low/mid tones effortlessly dancing over a melodic alternative R&B beat. "Act II: Date @ 8" is his second single.
  • Written by 4batz himself, "Act II: Date @ 8" finds him showing his affection for his sweetheart. He's laying it out, showing mad love for his girl, hooking her up with cash to get ready for their 8 p.m. date.
  • 4batz first gave us a taste of "Act II: Date @ 8" back on October 30, 2023, with a sneak peek on Instagram. After dropping the whole vibe on December 15, 2023, the joint blew up real quick thanks to the From The Block live performance music video, which shows 4batz in the mix, surrounded by a crew rocking ski masks and hoodies. While he's laying down R&B vibes, the video's got that drill rapper aesthetic, not your typical R&B crooner setup. That crazy mix made the video blow up big time on the socials to become a viral sensation.
  • 4batz wrote the song for the ladies. "Nowadays, R&B is 'toxic,'" he told Billboard. "It's a lot of fake toxicity going on. I don't know about that toxicity. My momma raised me in a way like, 'You love a girl, you do this. You open the door for her.' I'm big on that, so that one was specifically for the females."
  • Days after 4batz inked a short-term deal with Drake's label OVO Sound for one EP, things got heated with a remix of "Date @ 8" dropping on March 8, 2024. Drake hopped on the track, blessing it with his signature flow. Drake's bars add a fresh layer to the original R&B vibe, with a touch of unexpected vulnerability.
