• The hard-hitting beat is courtesy of Murda Beatz and his frequent collaborator, the German duo Cubeatz. Though this is the first collaboration between 6ix9ine and Murda Beatz, the producer previously worked with Nicki Minaj on her track "No Frauds."
• Speaking with Angie Martinez, 6ix9ine admitted to putting little effort into recording the track. "We go in the studio and just be having fun and then it's a hit," he said. "I didn't put no effort into that s--t. I know J. Cole sits back, Kendrick Lamar sits back and be like, 'This kid.'"
  
  Despite the Brooklyn rapper's apathy, the song became him first Top 5 hit on the Hot 100.
• Minaj had come up with the first half of her initial verse within five minutes of hearing Murda Beatz's beat. She recalled on Instagram: "6ix9ine sent me this song and we got on the phone to discuss. Five minutes after the call I sent him this voice note. True story."
  
  Minaj added that 6ix9ine sent her a voice note back making fun of her voice. "I was literally in bed half sleep! Smh," she wrote.
• The song was included as a bonus track on Minaj's Queen album.
• 6ix9ine is a controversial figure, having pled guilty to using a 13-year-old child in a sexual performance when he was 18 years old. Some expressed surprise that Nicki Minaj worked with him, stating the song's childlike visuals and cover art were in poor taste considering 6ix9ine's past history with minors.
• Minaj claimed that she wasn't allowed to bring 6ix9ine onstage during her "FEFE" performance at the VMAs. He was most likely banned from performing due to his criminal history.
