Songfacts®:

  • "Night Away (Dance)" is a playful track where J1Mulla and A1orFundz (aka A1 x J1) dance the night away in the club. They meet plenty of girls, some of whom they fancy, but the pair are too young and too busy to get involved in a serious relationship. Instead, they just want to have fun on the dance floor.
  • The two teenage rappers nab their elder statesman, Tion Wayne, for a verse. He boasts how he's come a long way from Feltham Young Offenders Institution to a BRIT nomination. A1 praised Tion Wayne's studio work ethic as being "so different" to what he was used to.
  • The song starts and ends off with a sample of Jennifer Lopez singing a couple of lines from her 2010 hit "On The Floor." A1 x J1 continue to interpolate J-Lo's "dance the night away" line throughout the song.
  • Producers Yoshi (UK) and ShoBeatz add to the track's Latin feel by incorporating a soft guitar riff.
