• This song features a verse from Young Money rapper, Drake, and a previously unreleased vocal hook from the late R&B singer. We hear Aaliyah, who died on August 25, 2001 in a plane crash, sing, "You say you got a lot on your mind, sit down let's talk about. I hate to see you feel this way. So tell me what I can do to make it better for you." Drake premiered the song at the OVO Fest in Toronto, on August 5, 2012.
• Drake is a longtime fan of Aaliyah and even sports a tattoo with her image on his back. He sampled her music on his Thank Me Later track, "Unforgettable" and later paid tribute to her in the lyrics for his Take Care tune, "We'll Be Fine."
• The track was produced by Drake's longtime collaborator Noah "40" Shebib and executive produced by the Toronto MC. Aaliyah's previous music is linked with the singer's longtime friends and collaborators Timbaland and Missy Elliott, who both worked extensively with the late R&B star. Timbaland told Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club that he felt disappointed that he and Missy weren't involved, since they both knew Aaliyah. "I know they were trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if Drake does it, it should be with me and him, and Missy [Elliott]," he said. "I don't know what's going on. The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. For it to be on his record, that would not be right."
• This was originally intended to be the opening single from Aaliyah's second posthumous album but Drake's project was subsequently dropped. Noah "40" Shebib explained to Vibe magazine that it was the backlash from fans as well as Timbaland that put the brakes on the proposed set. "The world reacting to Drake's involvement so negatively, I just wanted nothing to do with it. That was a very sad experience for me," he said. "I was naïve to the politics surrounding Aaliyah's legacy and a bit ignorant to Timbaland's relationship and everybody else involved and how they'd feel."
