Songfacts®:

  • A song that contains the phrase "All my life I've been waiting for you" begs an obvious question, and in May 2017, through his management, Thorn St. Germain confirmed it is indeed autobiographical.

"Paul Rodgers sang of 'a perfect Love in a careless land' and I believe that's an ideal worth singing about! Even though that time passed and we moved on, I feel happy when I think about it!"

Paul Rodgers may have sung it, but the song alluded to - "Dreaming" - was actually written by Tony Franklin. Running to 4 minutes 3 seconds, the uptempo "All My Life" is track 4 on the April 2017 release Love Is Calling; it remains to be seen if the young lady alluded to is the "Red Hot Flame" referred to two tracks earlier, but in any case, he probably says the same thing to all the girls! >>>
