  • The string arrangement on this song was modelled on Paul Buckmaster's work with Elton John. Aimee Mann explained to Billboard magazine:

    "I felt like that could be just piano and strings in that Madman Across the Water, 'Levon' or 'Tiny Dancer' (vein). This is my theory about his (Buckmaster's) arranging: that he arranges strings like a horn section. They often take the melody in unison, and they're very stabby and punchy, more horns than strings were arranged up to that point. So we looked to him for that song."
