Songfacts®:

  • The title of this trippy and upbeat song was lifted from the Oscar Wilde short story The Canterville Ghost. Nicolas Godin told Minnesota Public Radio station 89.3 The Current that the song "was inspired by Oscar Wilde and fog and Jack The Ripper," adding that it sums up the duo's "romantic vision of England."
  • Godin's Air partner Jean-Benoît Dunckel explained the poem, "was about ghosts in a castle. We built the song from the title."
  • Most of Love 2 is a paean to the opposite sex and the woman in question on this track is according to the duo, "an angel."
  • In an interview with Mojo magazine November 2009, Dunckel was asked when he was last embarrassed. He replied that it was during an interview in Germany when he was talking about this track. The Air man added: "I was explaining how the song was speaking about the grace of a woman, in her ankles and her legs, the way she walks, in her weight, and as I was saying that I looked up and I was talking to a really, really, super-fat girl."
