Rumours Of You

Album: Twitch (1985)

Songfacts®:

  • A Nova solo composition, in this song he finds out through the grapevine that his girl has been cheating on him. Not only is he losing her, but he has to suffer the indignity of hearing about it from others.
  • Running to 4 minutes 55 seconds, this power ballad is the odd man out on the 1985 Twitch album because it is a duet between Nova and Fiona Flanagan, although the girl who appears in the video is actually a stunningly attractive but uncredited Argentinian model. This was also the first time Nova used what he calls his "spinning guitar" trick in a video.
  • This was the first single off the album, although it was not meant to be. It was produced by the man himself and was released on the Portrait label in four formats; the maxi single released in the Netherlands includes "Fallen Angel" and "Twitch" on the B-side. >>>
