Songfacts®:

  • The musicians on this track are:

    Alexandra Savior (vocals)

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner (electric guitar, slide guitar, bass guitar)

Mini Mansions and The Last Shadow Puppets bassist Zach Dawes (bass guitar)

Florence + The Machine and Arctic Monkeys producer James Ford (drums, percussion, organ, keyboards).
  • This was released as the second single from Belladonna Of Sadness. Savior told NME about her minimal studio setup:

"It was just us three, a wizard engineer by the name of Michael Harris, and occasionally bassist Zach Dawes. Alex played guitar and some bass because my playing is at an elementary level to say the least, and James played keys and rocked out hard on the drums. We'd sit together to try and find precious tones, and for a few of the solos I would sing into a synth or filtered mic and Al or James would mimic the melody."
  • This is the oldest song on Belladonna Of Sadness. Savior told HMV.com:

"'M.T.M.E' is from 2013, so I've been collecting songs for four years, most of them came to me in 2014 and 2015. It all came in a year."
  • Oh yeah, before you ask, the song title stands for "Music To My Ears."
