    The song title symbolizes the average number of days that people live. "Yo, I read this ill article that said the average life is 76 years which equals 28,000 days," said Keys. "That made me think that I gotta live every moment to the fullest. What you gonna do to make the most out of today? We gonna do a song about that."
  • Getting the most out of life is a familiar theme in Alicia Keys' music. On "Like You'll Never See Me Again," she sings about about living every moment with her lover as if it's your last. ("I don't wanna forget the present is a gift. And I don't wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me. 'Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed").

    On "New Day," inspired by the birth of her baby boy, Keys celebrates the possibilities of every new day ("I celebrate mine, 'cause I ain't gonna get no more").
