  • Alicia Keys teamed up with rapper Kendrick Lamar on this tune, which plays over the closing credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Lamar kicks off the song with some rapid rhymes then we hear Keys singing of carrying out superhero duties over Pharrrell Williams' production and Hans Zimmer's orchestral arrangement. "I'm very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer," said Keys. "This is the next chapter in the Spider-Man legacy and we really feel 'It's On Again' captures the experience, the story—and most importantly—the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary. There's a little bit of a super hero in all of us."

Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb added: "We were looking for just the right song to close out the film - a song that would be upbeat and exciting, but also contain a note of foreboding. Alicia's song, 'It's On Again', is the perfect end note."
  • Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer previously worked together when they scored the 2012 Academy Awards and they also collaborated on Williams' G I R L album and the hit animated film Despicable Me.
  • The score for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was helmed by Zimmer, who formed a supergroup to create the music for the movie consisting of Pharrell, Incubus' Mike Einzinger, The Smiths' Johnny Marr, and The Eurythmics' Dave Stewart. "When we came together to form a band to create the music of this film, we did the opposite of what composers usually do -- we wrote songs, and from the songs came the themes," Zimmer explained. "We embraced a rock 'n' roll ethos on this movie, and it paid off."

Zimmer had previously worked with all the other members of the supergroup with Einziger having played on his score for The Lone Ranger, Marr on Inception and Stewart on Madagascar 3.
