Songfacts®:

  • This largely piano-based track is a fairly standard love song, full of clichés. It was released as the B-side of Alison Moyet's first single, "Love Resurrection."
  • Alison Moyet wrote the song with her producers, Steve Jolley and Tony Swain. Back then, she kept a bit of distance in her lyrics, writing about topics she felt were relatable. Later, her songs got a lot more personal.

At this stage, she was known only for her time in the duo Yazoo, which she formed with Vince Clarke after he left Depeche Mode. Moyet quickly proved herself as a popular solo artist in her native UK, where her debut album, Alf, went to #1.
