Songfacts®:

  • Guitarist Mike Martin penned the song's verse, the pre-chorus, and the chorus, while lead guitarist Oli Herbert came up with the bridge. Vocalist Phil Labonte added his lyrics later. Martin told AllMusic: "It was fairly easy to come together. Vocals and melodies get added in the studio because Phil's a last-minute crammer. He helps with the music, but he doesn't worry about vocals until the studio. He likes to put the pressure on himself and do it all at once. Then you hear the vocals, and it's like, 'Wow!' The song came out exactly how I wanted to hear it."
