Songfacts®:

  • The Dragon is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. January 23, 2012 – February 9, 2013 was the most recent year of the dragon. Stockdale told Artist Direct: "People look at the Chinese calendar and think, 'This year, I'm going to be creative, have a great love life, make lots of money, and be healthy!' It's the whole idea that we change every year. We're looking for experiences and hoping things will work out. Sometimes, you're oppressed, down, and nothing works. We're looking to these things in order to predict how we're going to behave, so I figured I'd write a song about it. You look at yourself, how things are going, and try to work it out."
