  • The title track of Andy Mineo's Uncomfortable album finds him wanting more from life. "What I've been trying to learn is how to embrace discomfort," the rapper told MTV News.

"One of the quotes that stuck out to me when I was making this album was, 'Good art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed,'" he added. "You've heard it before: 'I just wanna live a comfortable life.' But those ideas, to me, don't push me to grow. This album for me, too, is about embracing the discomfort of growth."
  • Mineo put himself in an uncomfortable space for the Uncomfortable album, to challenge his own creativity. "I'm going against the grain of what works," he told The Boombox. "So like I know how to make turn up records, southern records, all the popular records that are out right now."

Mineo added: "But this is for the first time I think on an album I'm like 'no, I'm going to take my own artistic step in a different direction and say this is what I like and I'm not gonna just try to keep up with what's happening. I'm gonna try to step out of the safe space to kinda curate my own sound.' That's what's scary."
  • Andy Mineo shows his support for the LBGT community when he raps, "I apologize for Christians with pickets sayin' 'God hates f-gs.' I promise Jesus wouldn't act like that." He explained the lyric to The Boombox: "I desired to honor them as people in the image of God. Nobody – regardless of how they feel or behave – deserves to be on the other end of receiving hatred and discrimination. I don't care who you are. There's a bigger conversation there about honoring and respecting people who are different from you.

One of the trickiest things [that] people can't wrap their mind around is how you can honor and respect someone and still not agree with them. How do you look at Donald Trump or someone who is a polarizing figure and say 'I respect you?'"
