Songfacts®:

  • This post-hardcore track finds Tom DeLonge singing of a relationship with a girl who is the victim of childhood abuse. His lover's troubled past has left her mentally and emotionally damaged with an unstable personality. DeLonge is sympathetic towards his girlfriend's problems and willing to live with her volatility. Such is his attraction towards her that he is ready to "die here now by euphoria."

DeLonge said: "This song shows the seductive nature of an intense love built with that baggage from our youth, from being born into an imperfect household."
  • Released on May 19, 2021, "Euphoria" is Angels & Airwaves first single with bassist Matt Rubano as an official member of the band.
  • This incorporates a darker and more aggressive instrumentation than Angels & Airwaves' past tunes, taking inspiration from DeLonge's previous band, Box Car Racer. The frontman said that he felt modern music was severely lacking in "guitars, angst, and emotional authenticity." He set out to create a song that mirrored "the post-hardcore days of my youth, where the power of the music creates that feeling we once had as teenagers, where we wanted to break something and change the poisonous environment within our broken homes."
  • Tom DeLonge wrote and produced the song with:

His Angels & Airwaves bandmates Ilan Rubin and Mark Rubano.

Ilan's brother: Angels & Airwaves' engineer and co-producer Aaron Rubin.
  • DeLonge directed the dramatic video, which shows a young woman seducing a man who works at Area 51.
