Songfacts®:

  • This is one of a number of songs with romantic lyrics on Merriweather Post Pavilion. Dave "Avey Tare" Portner told music journalist Michael Dayers that he felt this number, "is definitely the most romantic, lovey-dovey of them all." He added: "I think all of them, kind of hint at relationships, I think most of the songs do. I think for most of us, that's the most important thing going on in our life, outside the band - and the band for us is based on pretty intense relationships, too. So I think, being musicians and having to travel around a lot, and leave home a lot, and leave our girlfriends and wives… Noah ('Panda Bear' Lennox) has a daughter now, so its kind of on our mind a lot, and I think that definitely affected our songs a lot. And inspired a lot of the songs."
