Songfacts®:

  • This song was inspired by the David Lynch film Blue Velvet, specifically the behavior of the sexually depraved, murderous sociopath Frank Booth, as played by Dennis Hopper. Speaking with Melody Maker in 1988, drummer Charlie Benante explained that he told guitarist and lyricist Scott Ian, "you gotta write a song about Frank Booth. You see, everybody is Frank Booth, there's some of that psycho in everybody."
  • The song was translated into simlish for the radio on the The Sims PC game.
