Songfacts®:

  • This song originated with a visit that Franky Perez (guest vocalist on Apocalyptica's 2015 album Shadowmaker) and Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler paid to their friend Diane Warren. The songwriter had already written "I'll Get Through It" and played it to the pair as she thought it would work well with Perez' voice. Both the musicians loved it and Perez suggested sending the tune to Apocalyptica. The Finnish band also dug the track and recorded it with Perez on vocals and Butler on bass, releasing it as a single on March 18, 2022.
  • The song finds Perez reeling after a breakup. Though his world has crumbled and his heart is deeply cut, Perez insists he will "get through it."
  • This is the second time Apocalyptica recorded a Diane Warren song. Back in 2010 they laid down "Not Strong Enough" for their 7th Symphony album.
