Songfacts®:

  • The title of this dreamy violin-enriched track was inspired by Ariana Grande's boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. "That's what Ricky called her one night. I think it was after their first kiss," the singer's friend and frequent co-writer, Victoria Monet, told Billboard magazine. "He waited to kiss her for a long time, and she was really impressed. He's such a gentleman, and the song is a great little bookmark of the start of their relationship."
  • The doo-wop track serves as the intro to Ariana Grande's third studio album. It was originally intended to be the title track, but early in 2016, the singer announced that she'd changed the title to Dangerous Woman.
