  • Here, Ardee – real name Riley Davies – gets contemplative about his tough upbringing and his relationships with women.
  • Raised in the poor part of Brighton, Davies has been grinding hard all his life. He's been rapping since the age of 12, starting with pub gigs performing to 20-30 people. Davies' other early jobs included working in an Amazon warehouse packing boxes.

    Story of my life
I've been on my ones, on grinding

The absence of Davies' father impacted his own relationships.

I hardly didn't know my dad
But it weren't his fault, I'm no longer mad
He does what he can, they come and they go

When he's playing gigs as ArrDee or in the club, all the girls want to be with him. But Davies acknowledges how if he wasn't a famous rapper, things would be different.

I bet you now, they wouldn't stick with me
If I didn't rock this flow
If I didn't pop, then blow, but I chose this
  • AOD created the drill beat. His other productions include Tion Wayne's "I Dunno," Digga D's "Bringing It Back" and Stormzy's "Superheroes."
  • The song begins and ends with a heavily pitched sample from Westlife's 2002 track, "Written in the Stars." Ironik's 2008 hit "Stay With Me" uses the same high-pitched sample.
  • The Gabriella Kingsley-directed video finds ArrDee taking an acting role as he attends a house party. We see him showing interest in a girl, despite already being with one. Gabriella Kingsley (Ed Sheeran, Fireboy DML, Krept & Konan) also shot Arrdee's previous clip for "War."
