Songfacts®:

  • Lead singer Tim Lambesis writes the lyrics for As I Lay Dying's songs. In March 2009, we asked him which of his lyrics he considers his best work. Lambesis replied: "I'm really proud on 'Nothing Left.' It sums up a lot of what I think is important to stand up for in music, but it does so in a very visually descriptive poetic kind of way. The song is really about how we need to fight to be different than the world around us because we should have nothing in common with the mainstream mentality... at least the current mainstream mentality."
