  • One of the earliest Ash tracks, "Angel Interceptor" was written by lead signer Tim Wheeler and drummer Rick McMurray when they were teenagers. Wheeler described the song as being about "missing someone sexually."
  • Like many Ash songs, the title is not mentioned in the lyric. An Angel Interceptor is a jet fighter in the '60s British TV series Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons. The title was chosen for the space sounds in the song and some of the references: Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin gets a mention, as does the Apollo 21 moon mission.
