• Attack! Attack! formed in Cardiff, Wales and had some success in the UK before getting noticed in America, where this song initially got some airplay on Sirius/XM radio. Their lead singer Neil Starr told Songfacts the story behind this song: "I wrote the chorus of this song whilst on tour with a previous band in Australia. We didn't have a lot of money, and we were struggling being away from home for so long. I saw the whole trip as being a test of strength and character. The whole song lyrically is about that exact thing: facing challenges and taking them on the best you can. The music evolved a lot whilst we were in LA with our producer Stuart. It was a very different song after he had his input. A lot of the gang chants are his ideas."
• Starr talks about the band's songwriting process: "I love to hear the guys make up chords in practice; it really inspires me to write hooks, lyrics, and melodies. Some days, I pick up a guitar and start playing something, and I think to myself, 'That's awesome.' Other days, I can sit there for hours and get nothing." (learn more at their MySpace page)
