Songfacts®:

  • This slow-churning single finds August Alsina singing of an addictive physical attraction to a woman.

'Cause I can't get enough of your drugs
So baby, just tell me when you're ready, oh

Alsina can't stop thinking about the lady and he compares his love for her with being hooked on drugs.
  • The song is the title track of Alsina's third album. He explained the inspiration for the record in an Instagram clip:

"I realized how addicted to certain ways of living life I was, addicted to chaos, drama, confusion. Lately, for me, it's been about breaking the cycle and creating a new normal. That new normal is love. I have a newfound addiction. Through love and beautiful women, I've been able to find myself, reach higher places within myself."
  • The video, which Alsina co-directed, shows him pouring his heart out while floating on a boat in the middle the sea, covered in tribal paint. Naturally, there are several lovely ladies surrounding the singer.
