  • Ayleo and Mateo Bowles are two brothers hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan, who perform under the names of Ayo and Teo. Having competed at dance since elementary school, the duo have developed their own unique moves, which they have shown to the world through their Youtube videos. Ayo and Teo really began to gain mass appeal with their "dance challenges" which went viral through social media.
  • This rap cut is the official theme song for Ayo & Teo's #rolexchallenge. "I just want a Rollie, Rollie, Rollie with a dab of ranch," chants Teo on the bling-obsessed tune, before proclaiming that he wants a Rolex on his wrist "so I look better when I dance."
  • The song was produced by:

Jeremy "Backpack" Miller, whose other credits include Rae Sremmurd 's "Lit Like Bic."

BL$$D, who also handled the beat for Ayo & Teo's follow up to "Rolex", "Lit Right Now."
  • Rolex is the largest single luxury watch brand with estimated revenues of around £1.75 billion. Its name is a contradiction of 'horological excellence,' the 'rol' taken from the first word, and the 'ex' from the second.
  • The song was inspired by a trip to the jewelers at the Cumberland Mall in Georgia. "We were looking at chains and stuff, because we ain't know no better," Ayo told Genius. "So, [the jeweler] pulled out the Rolex out the safe and they had different color faces and stuff, so we immediately just fell in love. We were like, 'Oh, shoot! We gotta get a Rolex!' So, he let me take a picture of them and I sent it to my manager. Our manager responded super fast. He said, "Get out of the jewelry store, right now! I'm like, 'Come on!'"

"So, we left the mall and went back to our hotel room, because we were traveling so much, going back-and-forth from the hotel and stuff," he added. "And we were just like, 'Man. We need those Rolexes.'"
  • "Rolex" was originally created when Ayo & Teo were messing around with an Autotune app, making up songs based on the instrumentals they were coming up with. Ayo recalled:

"We had this T-Pain autotune app, and we were just being childish, the whole night, just making songs on the instrumentals that they gave us on the app. And then, he did an a cappella. He went in the bathroom. I'm like, 'Why did you do in it the bathroom?' He's like, 'Because you can get the most sound in there.' So, he was going crazy in there, I guess. He came out with the first version.

He went back in the bathroom and came out and was like, 'Bro, y'all gotta hear this!' And the autotune was strong, so it was like 'I just want a Rollie, Rollie, Rollie with a dab of ranch!' And that's all he had. Then we went to the studio, Jazze heard it, he went in the studio and laid out the whole hook."
  • 2017's most requested lyric on Amazon's voice assistant was, "Alexa, play the song that goes 'I just want a Rollie, Rollie, Rollie.'"
