Songfacts®:

  • Badflower was formed in Los Angeles in 2013 by singer/guitarist Josh Katz and guitarist Joey Morrow after writing a few songs together. They recruited bassist Alex Espiritu and drummer Anthony Sonetti to complete the outfit.

The band's name came out of a random conversation that Katz and Morrow were having with one of the singer's family members. Katz recalled to Bandwagon magazine: "We heard the two words said in a certain way that made us both turn to each other and repeat it almost in perfect unison."
  • This raw and emotional song touches on the sober topic of suicide. Katz, who co-wrote the lyrics, told ABC Radio though he has never tried to end his own life, he has had his difficult moments, mentally.

"When I was on the last tour we did, I was suffering from panic disorder," Katz explained. "I would go on stage every night and I would start to have these panic attacks, and I was quite depressed and confused from having to do that for months. When I got back, I wanted to write a song playing out this terrible fantasy for my own form of therapy, I guess."
