Songfacts®:

  • Banx & Ranx are an electro-Caribbean production duo from Montreal, Canada, comprising Soké and KNY Factory. The two producers came together in 2014 when Soke heard KNY's remix of Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" and decided to meet and record together. The duo signed to Parlophone Records and their debut track "Lit" was released in March 2017.

"All of our rhythms, drum patterns and baselines are inspired by funk and soul," Soke told Noisey. "People may know us for our main Caribbean sound but we have separate folders for the different genres of beats."
  • This song features vocals by:

English singer-songwriter Ella Eyre whose other notable contributions to hit tunes include Rudimental's "Waiting All Night," DJ Fresh's "Gravity" and Sigala's "Came Here for Love."

East London rapper Yxng Bane, who having featured on Yungen's UK top 10 single "Bestie," charted for the first time under his own name with "Rihanna" in 2017.
  • The song first came about in 2017, but everyone's schedules just kept clashing. Eventually, Banx and Ranx sent their instrumentation via email to Yxng Bane so that he could record his rhymes.
