Songfacts®:

  • A solid, uptempo commercial track running to 4 minutes 34 seconds, this John Lees composition was described by the December 1995 issue of the fanzine Nova Lepidoptera as "the rockiest BJH song for many years" and a rant against violence. "Cheap The Bullet" was not released in Germany - where the band have a large following - and all too typically flopped in Britain where it was released on the Polydor label in both 7-inch and 12-inch formats on February 5, 1990, the former backed by "Shadows On The Sky," the latter by "Shadows On The Sky" and a live cut of "Berlin." >>>
