Songfacts®:

  • In 1979, "Loving Is Easy" joined that elite list of otherwise innocuous songs which was banned by Auntie Beeb. According to Keith Damone of the band's fan club and website, "When the BBC first heard it, they objected to the line as I shoot all my love into you, so the band went away and re-recorded it with a slightly different line, but to no avail - the Beeb then decided that they didn't like the line Just get a hold and watch how it grows and banned the song from being played on the BBC at all!"

The passage of time appears to have mellowed the programme's producers, because in 1984, Alison Moyet performed (or mimed) "Love Resurrection" on the show, a song which includes references to someone growing in her hand and giving her a warm injection.
  • The song was released in the UK on the Polydor label December 30, 1978, backed by a live version of "Polk Street Rag." >>>
