Songfacts®:

  • Multi-instrumentalist Kevin Hearn brought three new songs to the table for Canadian alternative rock band Barenaked Ladies twelfth studio album, All In Good Time. One of them was this surreal ghost town travelogue, which showcases his vocals. The former choirboy explained in press materials: "I brought my songs in with sketches of how I heard them. They were further shaped by the guys and (producer) Michael Phillip Wojewoda's input. I didn't try to write 'BNL' songs, per se, rather I just tried to write songs that felt honest to me, and I knew they would be in good hands within the band."

  • Sarah from Marina Del Rey, CaIt's a real place! It's about Jerome, AZ, which is a small ghost/mining town up on a steep hillside. I grew up right next to this place and used to take field trips in grade school up there!
