Songfacts®:

  • Bayside vocalist and lyricist Anthony Raneri wrote this during the 2012 Warped Tour for his girlfriend (now his wife) Mia, when the couple was on the verge of a breakup. The heartfelt apology was never intended for public ears, but when his bandmates heard the song they insisted it be included on Cult. "That's the most personal song I've ever written. It's like sharing a letter to the world; sharing my actual diary that I didn't think anybody would see," said Raneri.

"I always write a song with the intention of sharing it, but that lyrically was the first song I wrote that was so personal because I thought nobody would ever hear it," he added. "I think it's a great song; one of the best songs I ever wrote."
