Songfacts®:

  • The first single from Bea Miller's sophomore album, "Yes Girl" finds the singer refusing to be silenced or taken advantage of. "I had a lot of people in my life telling me what I needed to be doing and what direction I need to be going in," she explained to People. "I was just getting really stressed out, and I found myself saying yes to a lot of things that I really didn't want to. There's that saying of being a Yes Man, and I was kind of being a Yes Girl."

"I wrote this song to remind myself that I can stand up for myself and be passionate about things and have an opinion," Miller added, "and that it's not wrong."
