  • In this song, Bedouin Soundclash break the news that the king is dead, leaving behind a corrupt world of lies and fear-mongering. But which king is it? Jay Malinowski doesn't know; he was just trying to sing a lullaby for his newborn son. The singer recalled in a track-by-track commentary:

"When we first brought Finn home from the hospital we weren't getting a lot of sleep. One time in the middle of night he started crying and I sang 'whoa whoa, the king is dead' and he stopped crying. I think he liked the low vibration. So I kept doing it. Lyrically, I didn't know which King was dead, however, globally it was starting to feel a lot like the French Revolution. So I wrote a few more lines - a few more about those crypto boys playing the crypto craps games, a few more about the modern day Louis XVIIIs. Then I wrote a few more lines for everyone burning the candle at both ends and trying to make ends meet with a few nods to our geopolitical culture of fear mongering to hoodwink the masses into consent of large changes, lolz."
  • This is a track from the band's sixth studio album, We Will Meet In A Hurricane, which was recorded at The Hive Creative Labs, a studio in Victoria, British Columbia, founded by Canadian producer Colin Stewart. Malinowski co-produced the album with Stewart. Although he'd never worked with the band before, Stewart naturally picked up on the band's vision for a stripped-down record. Said Malinowski:

"There wasn't a lot of discussion beforehand about limiting things in terms of instrumentation, but I think the way it unfolded was really enjoyable for us - a really powerful sound from basically just guitar, bass, and drums again."
