Songfacts®:

  • This dark pop song is a collaboration between Bella Poarch and American producer Sub Urban. The pair also teamed up for Poarch's breakthrough single "Build A Bitch."
  • The song finds Poarch using a hell motif to describe her devilish character. Despite this (or maybe because of it), Sub Urban finds her attractive. He acknowledges the Filipino-American femme fatale is dangerous and admits there is "something telling me to run away."
  • Andrew Donoho (The Strokes, Khalid, Run The Jewels) directed the twisted video, which takes place in a glamorous hotel. After being drugged by two men and pulled into an elevator, Poarch suddenly develops superpowers and turns into a hellish ice queen. She tortures her sleazy attackers with the help of Sub Urban's bartender character, turning the elevator shaft into an "inferno."
  • The video includes cameos from over 15 social media stars, including Porach's fellow Filipinos Ivana Alawi and Bretman Rock, and popular streamer and YouTuber Valkyrae. Bretman Rock and Valkyrae also appeared in Poarch's previous visual for "Build a Bitch."
  • Poarch's personal involvement of a sexual assault inspired the song and video's dark theme. The singer said she created "Inferno" with Sub Urban based on how she wished her traumatic experience went. "It's a fantasy I wish was true," she said.
  • Bella Poarch and producer Sub Urban wrote the song with:

"Mad At Disney" singer-songwriter Salem Ilese.

Producer Elie Rizk. She is a frequent collaborator of Maryland rapper Rei Ami.

New York City songwriter and producer Geoffrey Hufford. He is best known for his production work for the rock singer-songwriter Two Feet.

Salem Ilese and Elie Rizk also co-wrote "Build a Bitch."
