  • Howard told Radio.com how this haunting tale of darkness and loneliness came about. "I was in Morocco and I had a fever," he explained. "I ended up writing 'Oats In the Water' over those few days in a basement with natural light in Morocco."

He added: "I had a fairly good upbringing. People ask me where I get some of the melancholy songs from. I don't really know to be honest."
  • The song was used during the "Internment" episode of the horror drama TV series, The Walking Dead. We hear the tune playing twice, once during a zombie transformation and the second time as Hershel reads scriptures from a Bible before breaking down in tears.
