• Beyoncé took inspiration from her sister Solange Knowles and former Destiny's Child band-mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for her seventh and final single from B'Day. She explained to Billboard magazine: "When I wrote it, I said 'three best friends' because I was thinking about them. They make me laugh so hard, and we are so silly together. Like, we're trying to pretend that we're fierce, but in between takes, we're laughing [uproariously] at our inside jokes."

  American songwriter-producer Sean Garrett, who co-wrote Beyoncé's 2005 hit single "Check On It."
  American hip hop producer-rapper Kasseem "Swizz Beatz" Dean who had co-produced songs for Beyoncé before.

  Beyoncé's cousin Angela Beyincé, who previously collaborated on the Dangerous In Love single "Naughty Girl."
  Up-and-coming songwriter Makeba Riddick, who became part of the B'Day production team after co-writing the album's lead single "Deja Vu."
• In 2011 Beyoncé re-wrote and re-recorded the song, re-titling it "Move Your Body," as part of a joint campaign with Michelle Obama called "Lets Move! Flash Workout." The idea was to promote healthy eating and exercise, especially among children struggling with obesity and a 'Let's Move! Flash Workout,' video was distributed to junior high school students across the USA.
• A video of a woman named Deborah Cohan and her doctors breaking out dancing to this song before she underwent a double mastectomy was posted on YouTube in 2013. The clip went viral and the song returned to the Hot 100, with a new peak position of #46 for the week of November 23, 2013.
