Songfacts®:

  • Over Vinylz's ominous production, Big Sean gives thanks for his blessings, including his rap career and wealth. The Detroit rapper previously was heard counting his blessings during his verse for Logic's Under Pressure track "Alright." ("They tryna take my blessins away. They gotta be demons, I'm blessed everyday.")
  • Drake jumps on the hook and also spits a verse on being grateful for his OVO crew and his stadium status in the rap game. The Toronto MC states that he lives such a luxurious lifestyle that he can't imagine Heaven being any better than what he has at this moment.

Sean last collaborated with Drake in 2013 when he showed up on the Toronto MC's single "All Me" along with 2 Chainz.
  • The official album release only contains a feature from Drake. Kanye West raps the last verse on an extended version where he lists all the reasons he's blessed. This longer rendition serves as Dark Sky Paradise's third single.

Sean signed with West's then-nascent GOOD Music in 2007 after the label founder heard him freestyling at a radio station.
  • The previous time that Sean, Drake and West were all heard on the same song was an "All of the Lights" remix. Lil Wayne also jumped on the revised version of the famous Kanye track.
  • The black-and-white Darren Craig-directed video was shot in London during February 2015. The gothic visual features Sean giving thanks for his blessings framed against a dark sky. Drake is seen performing his rhymes in an dark studio space, whilst Yeezy showcases his new Adidas Yeezy Boost sneaker and clothes during his scenes.
  • Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry's daughter Riley went viral after she jumped in front of the mic and sang "Way up, I feel blessed" - a line from Drake's hook - during the post-game NBA Finals conference in 2015.
