Songfacts®:

  • This is the title track of Country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus' twelfth studio album. It was initially scheduled to be released in November 2010, but after being pushed back numerous times, it finally came out on June 28, 2011.
  • The album is a collection of patriotic songs. Cyrus explained in an AOL interview that it is a "tribute to veterans and the men and women who are sacrificing so much for our freedom, and the sacrifice their entire family is making."
  • Cyrus got the idea to do an entire collection of original patriotic songs after playing for troops outside of Kabul, Afghanistan in 2009. "We were playing 'Some Gave All' and some bombs went off," he recalled The Boot. "A young soldier stood up and said, 'Keep going, Mr. Cyrus. We're used to it.' Right then, I knew I'd make this album."
