  • Black Honey, hailing from Brighton, England, are a rock band known for their high energy, powerful vocals, and genre-bending sound.
  • Vocalist Izzy Phillips and guitarist Chris Ostler met at university and formed a band called What's Your Vice? with different bassists and drummers. They later changed their name to Kill Moon and released some singles and an EP. In 2014, they adopted the moniker Black Honey and released their first song, "Sleep Forever."
  • After releasing three EPs, Black Honey's 2018 eponymous debut album reached #33 on the UK albums chart, earning them wider recognition.
  • Black Honey are known for their cinematic and glamorous style of alternative rock, influenced by cult movies and directors such as Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, and Stanley Kubrick. The title of their second album, Written & Directed, is an homage to Tarantino.

"I always thought, wouldn't it be amazing to have a rock band but like a Tarantino version?" Phillips told Louder.

"I like cult movies and hammy horror in general," she added. "As a kid I spent a lot of time alone, and one of my main companions was the TV. I use films a lot to soothe when I'm anxious, and I think it gets absorbed into my world through that."
  • The title of Black Honey's third album, A Fistful Of Peaches, also nods to classic cinema; the 1964 spaghetti western A Fistful of Dollars. It reached #7 in the UK and features seven stylish music videos, each feeling like a movie.
