Songfacts®:

  • This piano led piece is an iTunes Pre-Order bonus track on San Francisco garage rockers Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's sixth studio album, Beat The Devil's Tattoo. The song is an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's 1839 story of everlasting love beyond the grave. Earlier in 2010 North Carolina post hardcore band Alesana released a concept album based on the same Poe short story (check out "The Thespian" for details). Beat The Devil's Tattoo is a phrase taken from another Edgar Allan Poe short story, The Devil In The Belfry.
