  • Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kweku Frimpong is a musician and rapper from Konongo, Ghana, who performs under the name of Black Sherif. This autobiographical song depicts his struggles to make a life for himself.
  • Black Sheriff refers to himself as "Kwaku the hustler" and "a traveler" whose journey towards a successful life has involved plenty of sacrifices, life-altering decisions and mistakes. He keeps falling down, only to pick himself up and carry on pushing towards his goals.
  • Black Sheriff raps most of the song in English, but also includes some rhymes in his native Ghanaian language of Twi.
  • Released on March 31, 2022, "Kwaku The Traveller" soon went viral on Twitter and TikTok. It debuted at #1 on Nigeria's Top 100 on Apple Music, marking the first time a Ghanaian solo artist had achieved the feat.
