Songfacts®:

  • "Losin' Streak" is a number from Hazbin Hotel season 2, episode 6 (titled "Scream Rain"), released in November 2025. The song features vocals by Blake Roman, who voices the eight-limbed adult entertainer Angel Dust.
  • In the episode, Husk wanders into the Magic Kat Casino to nurse his misery in an establishment specifically designed to amplify it. There he discovers that Angel Dust has taken up residence, performing a number in drag where he coaxes and flirts with the customers. At the end, he blows the room a kiss, wishes the gamblers "good luck," and leaves Husk both speechless and drunk.
  • Roman handles all the vocals. His performance leans into Angel's manipulative sparkle, serving as a narrative counterweight to Husk's self-destruction in the preceding track, "Love In A Bottle."
  • The track was composed by Sam Haft of The Living Tombstone fame, and soundtrack composer Andrew Underberg (Mr. Right, Hailey's On It). The first lyrical draft of "Losin' Streak" leaned far harder into the drinking theme until "Love in a Bottle" came along to claim that territory. Once the division of emotional labor was sorted (Angel = temptation, Husk = disaster), "Losin' Streak" evolved into its final form.
  • Haft described the arrangement as deceptively intricate. "Just keeping it simple but having those simple parts be themselves more complex, the piano is very complex," he told Playbill. "And I think that the same is true vocally, too. A lot of our tracks have different layers of background vocals. And this is really, it's pure technique, all about the Blake Roman technique."
  • Haft and Underberg moved the song up in key, something they almost never do for male vocalists. But Roman wanted the melody to live higher in his falsetto. "His falsetto register is so strong and really crystal clear," said Haft. "And I think a big selling part of that song is his beautiful falsetto and his beautiful vibrato in his falsetto."
