Songfacts®:

  • This honky-tonking rocker pened by Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip is the first single from the second installment of country singer Blake Shelton's Six Pack EPs.
  • The song is a paean to partying in which the protagonist is ignoring the prospects of a hangover. He is focused around living in the moment and ignoring the morning-after consequences.
  • Rhett Akins told the story of the song to The Boot: "We decided that we wanted to write a song about how we just don't care about tomorrow because tomorrow can wait until tomorrow - it's all about tonight! We just went from there and touched on things like I know I'm going to have a headache in the morning, and I'll probably be broke. There's no telling what we're going to do, and I don't even care because it's all about tonight. That's all I'm worried about! It's a good, fun party song about where the night is going to go. After we wrote it, we thought it sounds just like a Blake Shelton song. It's his life!"
  • The Jon Small directed live music video was premiered on Country Music Television on June 16, 2010. It is Shelton's first live performance clip.
  • Rhett Akins told The Boot that he had Shelton in mind when he penned this song. The Oklahoma-bred singer responded: "Every writer will always say, 'Man, I wrote this song for you,' and then when you talk to other artists they're like, 'Man, that jackass told me the same thing!' But with Rhett, maybe he actually did write a song with me in mind, just because I cut so many of his songs. But it's a good place to be when there's a certain song that, even if I'm not singing it, somebody goes, 'That sounds like a Blake Shelton song.' That's when you're finally creating that sound that is unique to one specific artist, which is what people like Travis Tritt and Garth Brooks did. So if that's what it's coming to, if people are writing songs specifically for me, that's a good thing."
