• The song's music video was filmed at Miranda Lambert's bed and breakfast, The Ladysmith, in the couple's adopted hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
• According to Rosen, who is also a guitarist and keyboardist for the country band Old Dominion, co-writer Osborne originally intended this for Sara Evans but it wasn't quite right. Rosen told Entertainment Weekly: "So he had that title he was like, 'I was imagining this with a girl singing, but what if it was a guy saying, 'Your lips taste like sangria?' And we just sort of found that groove - we were going for Chris Isaak kind of sexy groove and I started playing that sort of Spanish-y kind of riff and it took off."
