Someone Special

Songfacts®:

  • "Someone Special" was written by Ted Raffetto and Blaze Kelly Coyle. On the face of it, it is a rather unexceptional love song, but it has a far more sinister message, appearing as it does on the soundtrack of a low budget thriller/horror film, The Meat Puppet.

Both writers appear in the film too; Raffetto's name is misspelt in the closing credits. Miss Coyle performs the song with Darren Server on piano in a restaurant scene. The villain of the piece is a serial killer who is a cross between Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer, and the person he is looking for is not someone special with whom he can spend the rest of his life, but someone he can eat with roast potatoes and two veg.

Unexceptional though it is, "Someone Special" is arguably the best thing in the film. >>>
