Songfacts®:

  • "Anthem Part 3" kicks off Blink-182's 10th album, One More Time… as a continuation of the Anthem series, which includes the finale on their 1999 album Enema of the State, "Anthem," and the opener on their 2001 album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, "Anthem, Pt. 2."
  • This track dives deep into life's trials and tribulations, urging us not to throw in the towel. It's a thematic departure from the first part, which delves into the longing of adolescents for adult freedom, and the second part, which criticizes adults for their poor choices. All three anthems echo relatable themes for fans of the band's age.
  • The three members of Blink-182 wrote the song alongside the track's engineer Aaron Rubin. Drummer Travis Barker produced the track with co-production by Rubin.
  • American multi-instrumentalist Kevin Bivona takes on the role of both organ player and recording engineer on this track. Bivona is most recognized for teaming up with Rancid's Tim Armstrong on his various musical ventures. In 2011, he handled the engineering and mixing duties for Jimmy Cliff's Rebirth, a project produced by Tim Armstrong that won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album for both Armstrong and Bivona.

Bivona's journey with Travis Barker started when he contributed keyboard, piano, and synthesizer to Machine Gun Kelly's Tickets to My Downfall album, which was produced by the Blink drummer. He plays keys or piano on most of the One More Time... tracks.
