Songfacts®:

  • This bass-heavy track takes its name from the street slang for a drug prescribed for ADHD. It was all the rage among arty Manhattanites around the time Bloc Party were in New York recording Four. "I'd be at parties and people kept telling me about it because it keeps you super-focused," frontman Kele Okereke told Q magazine. "But I noticed the energy coming off them was neurotic and aggressive, which is what Team A's about. We wanted to call the song by its real name but we'd probably get sued."

The drug in question is Adderall, which is a brand name owned by Shire Pharmaceuticals.
