Songfacts®:

  • The second single from pop-punk band Bowling For Soup's 11th album, Fishin' For Woos, "Turbulence" was written, according to singer Jaret Reddick, after he asked a pilot whether he found turbulence frightening. It was released on July 18, 2011.
  • The video unsurprisingly features some people on a plane - but not a turbulent plane. It was directed by Reddick and his partner in video production company Built By Ninjas, Heath Balderston. The singer told Crave On Music: "The cool thing about the video is, we sort of put all the pieces there for you, but we don't really explain to you what's going on: we let you draw your own conclusion. It's kinda cool the way that we did it, based on your own life experiences, you write your own ending. You know it could be happy, it could be sad, it could be whatever. The video is awesome, I'm in a frickin' amazing car, and we rented a FRICKIN' aeroplane!"
